Announcing my internship with RDE

by Noé Lopez —

This post is a copy of the original email announcement in rde-announce.

It’s happening! I’m glad to announce that I am starting a four months internship with RDE starting… 35 days ago!

The goal of the internship is to improve the debugging experience for Guile Scheme by creating a runtime/stack inspection tool and stepping debugger integrated with the Guile Ares/Arei IDE.

On technical terms, we are considering nREPL and/or DAP protocol as a foundation. We will also improve debugging capabilities of Guile itself, where it's needed.

I am mentored by Andrew Tropin, an experienced Guile hacker and creator of the Ares/Arei IDE, and Nicolas Graves, a major contributor of the RDE project.

How you can help

We are looking for user stories related to guile debugging. You can send us an email with what you wish for in a guile debugger… and it just might happen!

Additionally, if you want to help fund the internship and future projects from our team feel free to send a donation to the RDE project :)

Acknowledgments

Huge thanks to Libre en Communs for hosting the internship and the RDE project for paying my gratification.
